Lanta Old Town Lanta Old Town
The magic of Lanta Old Town is an intangible thing that's extremely hard to describe. If you're looking for a unique holiday or vacation experience, where you can truly step back to a time where life unfolds on a personal level, where fascinating cultural events take place on a day-to-day basis and when fresh seafood becomes a way of life, then Lanta Old Town might be the place for you.

Tham Khao Mai Kaew (Khao Mai Kaew Caves) Tham Khao Mai Kaew (Khao Mai Kaew Caves)
A great break from the beach is a trip to the Khao Mai Kaew caves which are located in the center of the island, offering a wonder of rocks and caverns and housing spectacular stalactites and stalagmites. Even the hike to the caves is through a pleasant forest. Moreover, the real fun begins when you descend through a small indistinct hole in the rocks and enter the series of diverse caverns. Some sections are large as church halls, others require you to squeeze through on your hands and knees. Sights include impressive stalactites and stalagmites, bats and some sections in the cave create a cavern pool that you can swim in.

A normal city-car will have a hard time climbing up and down the three-kilometer mountainous dirt passage. Inside the national park stands the Lighthouse it takes quite a climb to get to the actual Lighthouse just a few meters away from the ground, but with a good pair of trainers you are all set.

Beaches & Bays on Lanta Island (Koh Lanta) Islands around Krabi >>>
Kantiang Bay (Ao Kantiang) Kantiang Bay (Ao Kantiang)
Kantiang Bay lies towards the southern tip of Koh Lanta and provides the last little hub of shops, restaurants, bars and cafes before entering the more sparsely populated, deep south of the island. There are just three beaches further south before you are in the protected National Marine Park.

As you enter the bay, you are greeted by a kilometre of white sand beach and crystal clear waters, set against a backdrop of tropical rainforest reaching up into the hillside. Kantiang Bay is the best place to base yourself if you want to dive some of the top dive sites in Thailand. With spectacular reefs, unmatched marine diversity and great visibility, Kantiang Bay offers the convenience of shorter journey times so you get more chance to enjoy the relaxed and laid back atmosphere of island life.
Kaw Kwang Beach Kaw Kwang Beach
Located in the northern part of Koh Lanta, next to Ban Saladan, Kaw Kwang Beach has its own character. Kaw Kwang, which means "deer neck" in Thai, has an elegantly curved beach line, resembling the sway of a dear's neck. When the tide is low, you can walk to a little island at the end of the cape. On this beach you will find both the Kaw Kwang and Twin Bay Resorts.
Khlong Jaak Bay (Ao Khlong Jaak) Khlong Jaak Bay (Ao Khlong Jaak)
A gorgeous small bay towards the southern end of Koh Lanta, Khlong Jak features steep rocky headlands covered in tropical forest and a fresh stream running down to the middle of the beach. The bay is south of Kantiang Bay and just north of Mai Phai Bay (Ao Mai Phai), making it the second last beach along this coast of Lanta.ll over the country.

The beach is simply superb for swimming, free of rocks and with deep blue waters. We reckon it is probably the best beach on Ko Lanta. Khlong Jak is definitely one of Lanta's better places to stay, too. The vibe is more relaxed and hippy than the touristy beaches which have more of a party feel. Here, more than most places on Lanta, you'll find that you get what you pay for.
Klong Dao Beach Klong Dao Beach
With it’s spectacular there three kilometers stretch of gleaming white sands and shallow clear waters. Klong Dao was the first beach to be developed on Koh Lanta, just over 5 years ago and it’s easy to see why. Spectacular sunsets against a white sand landscape, excellent, safe swimming conditions and a variety of entertainment facilities make this the most popular beach for families on Koh Lanta. Despite this the hugs beach never becomes over-crowded, and even in peak season just a short walk will find you a spot with some privacy.
Klong Tob Beach Klong Tob Beach
Klong Tob Beach is quite wide with good shade and it is good for swimming in some areas. Klong Toab is the last beach on the main road before you have to decide to turn right or to keep going on the west coast in the direction of Mu Koh Lanta National Park or you can continue on the road in the direction of the east coast.
Mai Phai Bay (Ao Mai Phai) Mai Phai Bay (Ao Mai Phai)
Mai Phai Bay is the overseas tourists favorite for its serenity and privacy. The beach is far from the beachside road with accommodation, the rear of which is only coconut plantation and a shady beach forest. The beach line bends along for 100 meters, slightly sloping with grainy but clean, clear water worth swimming-possible to walk for relaxation from Relax Beach.
Its southern apex next to Klong Khong Beach is Laem Hin-a hill line of the old coconut plantation possible to walk up for scenery viewing by looking back to the north to see the line of small stony bay, Mai Phai Bay, Relax Beach, Phra Ae Beach and Laem Kaw Kwang. Mai Phai Bay, next to Relax Beach, just a walk through the coconut plantation, has no accommodation, so ideal for retreating from noise for a swim and sunbath.
Nui Bay (Ao Nui) Nui Bay (Ao Nui)
Nui Bay is a small beach as it so called. Having the same characteristics as to make them a twin. Tourists need to walk about 50 meters down the hill to visit it. Its beauty is for those who love privacy enabling seaside activities by the smooth white clean beach, or swimming in the so-clear water. The beach is shady with tropical plants that grow in hills encircling the U-shaped bay. With a perfect beauty of nature worth visiting after a lot of large beaches are done, Nui bay has no facilities to serve. This beach is appropriate for driving to relax for a while not for stay.
Pra Ae Beach (Long Beach) Pra Ae Beach (Long Beach)
Just south of Klong Dao and equall as popular, It’s stunning crescent of pristine while some 4 kilometer long, takes your breath away with it’s beauty. Long Beach is steeper and the water less sheltered than at Klong Dao, which makes for safe yet spectacular swimming for adults. The facilities and resort on this beach are spread out over a greater distance, with the majority clustered at both north and south ends. Most visitors find Long Beach a slice of Paradise, and it can feel deserted even in peak season.
Tanod Cape (Laem Tanod) Tanod Cape (Laem Tanod)
Tanod Cape is located at the end of Koh Lanta Yai as the last attraction of the West side beaches in the area of Nu Koh Lanta National Park. The cape that sticks out into the sea forms a beach on each side one in the east is white and sandy as long as 150 meters, and the Wests side one made up of rocks called by the locals Hin Ngam Beach.
